i-Rose becomes a development partner of Gea Ireland

LAŠKO – The computer company i-Rose has signed the first contract in Slovenia with the Irish branch of the German multinational Gea group to develop software for handheld devices on the Android platform. It is the system support for the field service activities of this multinational company with an annual turnover of around €5 billion and 20,000 employees. The project, called Mobile asset service, introduces a new mobile device as a tool for capturing data and at the same time servicing users in the internal Gea system. The Laščans will also be able to market the software on the domestic market, but according to Primož Kristan, the company’s managing director, there is little chance of this, as there are no such companies in the country. We have succeeded in finding a partner for a long-term cooperation, and the Irish will be a springboard for us to expand to other parts of Europe. Julian Salerno, project manager, adds that by installing the software on Android devices, Gea’s assets will be maintained and serviced in a controlled manner and costs will be more manageable.
Our strategy of presenting at international trade fairs and focusing on European and global markets has been confirmed,” says i-Rose Marketing Manager Miha Mirt. The Laško computer company, which cooperates with Iskratel, Iskra Sistemi, Mobitel and Telekom, among others, has already proven itself with the i-Track system developed for Pivovarna Laško for the purpose of tracking brewery barrels, and is on the verge of concluding an agreement with Czech and Croatian breweries.
