Reducing contact in the supply chain through digitisation
Carriers fall into the category of persons exposed to infections. They encounter many people when carrying out their work processes. Digitisation optimises processes, eliminates personal contact, brings savings and the location of the process is no longer tied to the workplace.
Success stories of digitisation in logistics
Two years ago, i-Rose started a complete overhaul of the logistics processes at Judež Transport d.o.o. Logistics processes have been revamped and automated, from order intake, order portal, negotiation, transport planning and tracking to billing (including excise duties and work orders). The results are increased flexibility and efficiency of work and cost reductions.
Workflow:
- Orders from different channels flow into a single pool, followed by automated negotiation with customers.
- Preparation of a transport plan.
- Publish the plan on drivers’ Android devices.
- The documentation is digitised, there are no physical contacts.
- Drivers have all the information on the device and are alerted to changes and incidents.
- The performance data is automatically transferred to the back office.
Intereuropa also recognised i-Rose as a trusted partner. “At Intereuropa d.d., we follow the trends of improving information technology in the field of transport and logistics and adapt to the needs and requirements of our customers. The benefits we have identified at Intereuropa in using i-Rose are mainly in improved business processes and easier traceability of shipments, with more up-to-date data on shipment status. It also speeds up the exchange of statuses and PODs between us and our customers,” says Intereuropa. The introduction of MSP started already before the outbreak of COVID-19. The objectives of the introduction were to optimise the process of awarding contracts to carriers and to track the performance of works. The current situation has given the project additional weight, as it allows the fleet to be managed without personal contact between Intereuropa and the haulier-customer.

How to get started?
At i-Rose, we have a lot of experience in digitising business processes. Their solutions work online and as a robust asynchronous Android support (phone, tablet), independent of the quality of the internet signal. “Our development is guided by the need to provide efficient and friendly support. Anyone who knows how to use a smartphone knows how to use our solutions,” concludes Janez A. Korun, i-Rose CEO.
Electronic ticket: up to date at the moment
Workflow: the carrier’s ticket is electronically transferred to the drivers’ mobile devices during the supply chain process. Dispatches are made without physical documentation, and proof of performance is automatically delivered electronically to subscribers. It is also possible to optimise the routes used, which can reduce costs by up to 20%. Read more in the attached PDF document.
Time for a turnaround
The current situation has shown us all where improvements are urgently needed. In the wake of the pandemic, interest in digitisation will intensify as it becomes our imperative. Automation and digitisation will be the basis of business competitiveness.
