CD-ROM Annales and Acta Histriae
The Annales 91-95 collection and Acta Histriae proceedings are now also available on a CD-ROM disc called Seven Regular Volumes. This disc contains more than three hundred scientific discussions, expert reports and reviews, three collections of acts from scientific symposia and ten thematic authorial monographs. This is a rich collection that the Koper scientific journal Annales is proud of after five years of creating it.
The figures are by themselves eloquent proof of success, but it would be wrong to judge this only by quantitative criteria and not underline the quality achieved by the Annals in this short period. The quality is indirectly evidenced by the growing interest in the magazine among both readers and authors. With all this, we can say that the Annals exceeded the most optimistic expectations in meeting the initially set goals. They have and continue to evaluate the versatile specifics of the coastal and Istrian area with professional publications in the field of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and other sciences, promote multidisciplinary study of the northern Adriatic regions and act as a meeting point and discussion forum for domestic and foreign researchers.
Recently, the publisher Annalov, the historical society for South Primorska, with the help of co-investors, took care of another exceptional achievement, which in a unique way summarizes the work of this first five years. It is a CD-ROM album ANNALES ’91 -’95 Multimedia with the contents of all 7 volumes of the magazine and three symposium proceedings of Acta Histriae. In addition to texts and documentary material (drawings, photographs, statistical spreadsheets, charts, etc.) published in book editions, the panel also brings numerous audio recordings and more than half an hour of videos of content additions. The reader is thus offered the entire collection in a more complete version, which also allows him several types of access to content. He can use the mouse to reach for any notebook or collection and list through it as if he had taken it off the shelf. Maybe he is only interested in some specific topics or works of individual authors, attached statistical, pictorial material, etc. It then has several search keys available throughout the collection. In a special box, it displays lists from which you can select the author, literary work by title, images, table, audio and video recordings. With the word search system, the need to penetrate into narrower and specific segments of texts is met. On the computer screen, this way of content, which we have already read in the usual book form, is presented in new dimensions and in a more direct and accessible way attracts the interest of both professional and average readers.
The album, produced by the company i-Rose from Laško, was created in cooperation with Koper Television and was published with the financial support of the Adriatic insurance company, the companies Vinakoper, Emona obala Koper, Intereuropa and the General bank of Koper.
