From now on it’s easier to get books – The Mladinska knjiga publishing house has presented an electronic bookstore
Click, order, get.
We want feedback and initiatives as we strive to satisfy all customers.
The World Wide Web is richer for a new range of books. From now on, the Mladinska knjiga publishing house also presents its offer on the internet. Visitors of their internet page can choose and order books, get acquainted with book and magazine news, special benefits, pre-subscription campaigns and other activities of the publishing house.
The majority of the presentation, which can be found at www.mkz-lj.si, is currently intended for the catalog of products (books, videocassettes, CDs, audiocassettes, CD-ROMs) from the publishing program of the publishing house. According to the head of general sales of the publishing house Riko Rižnar, the Mladinska knjiga publishing house is aware of the importance of the Internet, which has triggered a mass response in the world and is constantly expanding. We would not only like to present books and other products from the sales program, but also sell them. They also want feedback and initiatives as they strive to satisfy all customers.
On the first page of the e-bookstore, individual sections are displayed in the form of icons: company presentation, book catalog, special benefits, pre-orders, weekly news, magazines, notices and ordering. All book and other editions from their publishing and sales program are sorted in the book catalog. The catalog is constantly being updated with new results, currently 2,400 product titles are entered in it. In addition to basic information (title, author, product type, number of pages, binding, retail price, availability), most products also have a cover image and a brief description of the content, and some products are also presented with a video. Special benefits include regular promotional sales with up to 50 percent lower prices. Under favorable offers, all pre-orders for important book editions are also presented, which are sold before the issue at especially lower prices.
The weekly news section especially emphasizes new titles. These remain among the novelties for a month, then are automatically moved to the regular book catalog. The magazine section is also interesting, in which three magazines published by the publishing house are presented: Ciciban, PIL – Pisani list and Gea. All three are presented with a summary of the content from the current issue and an announcement of points of interest from future editions. A special feature of the electronic bookstore is also the notice section, in which everyone can subscribe to regular notifications about news in the publishing house.
Each product is presented with a select and order button, which allows you to enter any number of products and copies in the order form. You send this by e-mail via the server directly to the computer information system of the publishing house, where the order is processed and printed out the next day as an order for sending the goods. Delivery from the warehouse to the post office is provided by the Mladinska knjiga Publishing House within 24 hours of the order; so you can get the book in two to three days. Currently, the sales catalog only supports the option of cash upon delivery, and in the future, customers will also be able to pay with their credit cards. In the case of pre-orders, customers will also be provided with the option of paying in installments.
The e-bookstore was created by the computer center employees of the Mladinska knjiga Publishing House together with the experts in the company i-Rose, which developed the software support of the bookstore, for nine months. As the Internet is a very lively and evolving medium, they will continue to take care of updating and expanding the offer on their pages.
